Gulf Coast Cancer Centers

Having Cancer is Hard, but finding help shouldn’t be. Gulf Coast Cancer Centers doesn’t want anyone to feel they have to fight cancer alone. The Gulf Coast and Southwest Alabama area offer numerous support groups to help you through your diagnosis of cancer. In addition, Gulf Coast Cancer Centers partners with the American Cancer Society to provide Cancer Resource Centers located in our facilities in Brewton and Monroeville. Both support groups and the cancer resource centers help patients face and conquer their non-medical challenges related to a cancer diagnosis.

Cancer Resource Centers
Gulf Coast Cancer Centers is one of only five cancer care providers in the state who have been selected to partner with the American Cancer Society for Cancer Resource Centers.

What is a Cancer Resource Center?
The American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Center (CRC) is a designated space within Gulf Coast Cancer Centers’ facilities where trained and certified volunteers provide support to cancer patients, their family members, and caregivers. Designed to increase outreach and support for cancer patients, the centers are staffed by trained volunteers who provide patients with vital information for understanding cancer, managing day to day through treatment and recovery, and finding the emotional support they need. Some of the center’s no-cost services include counseling and support groups, as well as offering personal care items such as wigs, bras, and prostheses.

How the Cancer Resource Center Helps You
The Cancer Resource Center helps you manage many aspects of your care such as finding information, day-to-day help and emotional support.
